If they don't answer, and don't respond to rapid kicking and prodding, then one could, reasonably assume that, indeed, that person could be deceased.

That said, I had a hamster once that died.
    I buried him.
But then, some weeks later, I was dismayed to hear on the radio that many hamsters were being needlessly buried because of their hibernation tactics. Apparently, they go cold and stiff and look like they are dead!

After some frantic digging in the garden, I was pleased to find that my hamster was indeed dead.
Well, not pleased, but you know what I mean.

    Oh no!
But, what if he wasn't dead until I buried him!!!

    Where's my spade!

And someone get Quincy on the fricking phone!!!

    Res...
Oh Res, you poor thing! Couldnt imagine what ya were going through! Sorry I did laugh out loud, but dang man. Way to break a child!

Haven't seen any dead here, but there plenty of homeless and street drunks in my town. The only dead body ive seen was that of my dearly departed Nana, but didnt freak me out, coz dang its my nan. She died of cancer so when she finally passed it was a kind of relief to see her peaceful and no longer in pain. Damn I miss her!:sadcrying She lived with us, so it wasnt like the nan you only see on birthdays or the weekend. She was such a huge part of my life and has left such a huge void in my life. Miss ya nana!!

    Peace

    Buddy

The only dead body I've ever seen in person was the guy who smashed his head in riding a motorcycle. I was driving by right after it happened and all I saw was the body and where the head should be was just a pile of mush. It was pretty lame.

if you tried to be dead on the street here in the burbs, you wud die for sure, cause no one would even see you for days, this is why bums live in metro areas...

    that seemed a little harsh...

No bums where injured in the making of this post...

Not long ago, somebody on this board, from England, said that she heard a rumor that there are dead bodies in the street of the U.S. I told her that you see them, but you don't know whether they are alive or not unless they move.
    Howdy BA,

I reckon that after awhile, city slickers git numb to seeing such a sight, but if it had been me in yer shoes,I would've found a cop and asked him to why the man was being ignored..I already know why,but I'd want to put the cop on the spot..and bring his humanity into question. Living in a big city, will slowly strip one's humanity away, huh ?

I know what it's like to live on the streets of Chicago, and it really sucked..folks just walk by like ya don't exist..and if ya ask for help, they act like yer going to rob em or something. I got so hungry,I ate a tube of toothpaste..at least my breath smelled good..I even thought of waiting on someone to come out of the Pizza Hut and snatch their pizza, but I couldn't bring myself to do it..so instead,I checked out the dumpster for decent throw-aways..which weren't too bad at all.

NoChowder says that he won't even sell a cig for 2 bucks, heck,I'd never dream of selling a cig,I'd just give it away..maybe even the whole pack..you see..but for the Grace of God..there go I.

    Have a good one ...

I saw some news report on Iraq yesterday, and they really DO have dead bodies laying on the side of the streets. People just kept driving by, on their way to work or to the market or home or whatever. As bad as the Iraqis had it under Saddam, it actually looks like they have it quite a bit worse now. I guess the only thing preventing civil war there WAS Saddam. Hindsight is so 20/20.

It was a loose-loose situation for the people in iraq. Stll is Maybe one day there'll actually be peace in the middle east. Either that or move everyone out of there, burn it all down and start over from scratch. Btw, I got the idea from an episode of monk. "just burn the whole city down and we'll rebuild a better future".
