Bodies lying in the streets
I was walking down Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan the other day and saw a man lying on the sidewalk, motionless, in front of a building. He could have been dead for all anybody knew, but was probably a homeless derelict or junkie. This scene is not an uncommon occurrence in many metropolitan areas.
Not long ago, somebody on this board, from England, said that she heard a rumor that there are dead bodies in the street of the U.S. I told her that you see them, but you don't know whether they are alive or not unless they move.Breukelen advocaat Reviewed by Breukelen advocaat on . Bodies lying in the streets
Every open doorway near canal st in new orleans had at least one person sleeping in it with a bottle of liquor when I went last may. It was craziness.

Bodies lying in the streets
Stopped in their tracks, rotting meat sacks.
Fell to the ground, with hardly a sound.
Compassion forgotten,
Blind to the pain,
of other human beings...
Merely a stain.

Bodies lying in the streets
lol Euphoric
I guess that, rather than guess whether or not a person is dead, it wouldhave been better to take time to ask them...
"Excuse me, but I couldn't help but wonder if you were dead or not"
If they don't answer, and don't respond to rapid kicking and prodding, then one could, reasonably assume that, indeed, that person could be deceased.
That said, I had a hamster once that died.
I buried him.
But then, some weeks later, I was dismayed to hear on the radio that many hamsters were being needlessly buried because of their hibernation tactics. Apparently, they go cold and stiff and look like they are dead!
After some frantic digging in the garden, I was pleased to find that my hamster was indeed dead.
Well, not pleased, but you know what I mean.
Oh no!
But, what if he wasn't dead until I buried him!!!
Where's my spade!
And someone get Quincy on the fricking phone!!!

Bodies lying in the streets
we don't have dead people lying in the streets, but we have homless people. Or at least we know they are out there. We don't see them. The police have them under controle caus there aren't many of them. And they are not alowed to sleep in the publick areas. Our sosial laws are made to prohibit people from not having a home to go to. By law one has the right to go to ones lokal sosial and helth office and ask for help to buy food, clothes, dental health and money to pay rent. And if you have no home they are required to help you find one and pay the rent if you can not.

Bodies lying in the streets
I've never seen anyone just lying in the streets. It'd probably freak the shit out of me if I did too.

Bodies lying in the streets
I've never seen a dead body in real life, and there sure as heck aren't bodies laying on the streets here. I don't know much about Vancouver as I just moved here, but there are bums everywhere! Don't even travel to the East Side of town, not unless you want to get killed or hooked on herion or something.
But back in Alberta, we had bums EVERYWHERE! All downtown usually because that's where the people are, the soup kitchens, and shelters. I'd see on a daily basis bums passed out in the side bushes along the street, tweekers or junkies passed out in the City Hall park, which, funny enough, is right across the road from the police station. There is a huge problem with Meth in my old city, so we have tweekers running around asking people to buy smokes, and when you don't sell them a smoke, well, temper tantrums 101. My buddy got threatened by a slap in the face because he wouldn't sell this girl a smoke for $2. My buddy is quiet and absorbs all insults, so I stuck up for him by saying to her, "if you touch him, I have no problem knocking a girl out"
