Why are people putting tobacco in joints ?

I have been reading the forums for about a day , and decided I should registar .
My first post has to concern the use of tobacco when rolling a joint . Why ?

Seems like it would affect the taste of the bud .

Sorry if this is a odd question , but I have lived in BC for my whole life , and smoke pot regularly and have never heard of this .

I smoke a lot of pot, but never tobacco. Last time I had a cigarette, I puked my guts out. When ever my friend adds some to a joint, I always end up only taking like one hit, then giving up because it's so damn nasty.

I see why some of you put it in your joints , I guess if you have poor burning weed , and already smoke cigs , it may be your thing .

I don't smoke cigs , and my weed always burns well . So I have no need to add tobacco to the joint .

Last night was my first Actual high. and the splif i shared with one of my friends was quite packed with baccy. i was expecting to cough, which i did, alot. but after the coughing i couldn't stop shaking, and i felt kinda nausious for about 20 minutes. after that it was a nice high. enjoying music more, feeling generally happier, etc.
being my first real time (both smoking and with Aunty H.C) was it an effect of the nicotine that made me shake or just some bad weed?

it was pretty fun. gonna get together with some friends this coming saturday for a proper session. one of them has a pipe. so i think i'll take some hits off that. get some of the taste without the baccy.

I like to put a thin bottom layer of baccy in the bottom of my joint papers and then weed ove the top.. it makes it easier to roll.. plus its like having a ciggerete but better...

I'm an American. I'm also a pothead and a tobacco user.

I've always thought this was a ridiculous sounding concept and up until about 2 weeks ago I never smoked marijuana mixed with tobacco.

After hearing so much about "European style" joints, I decided to give one a shot.

I twisted up a fat boy, half Stinky Pinky - half Turkish Gold cigarette tobacco.
I have to admit, it's quite enjoyable if you're a tobacco user. The smoke was a bit more harsh, but it didn't seem to affect the taste of the pot at all.

and I didn't have to light a smoke directly after finishing off the roach! :thumbsup:

I then smoke as much, or as little of the joint as I feel like.

re-lighting joints taste like ass personally. I'd rather use tobacco than smoke ash.
