Why are people putting tobacco in joints ?

It's a UK thing, perhaps jamaican in some way because of the word spliff which intends the blending of both cannabis and tobacco. I think that's correct information but meh. Personally, I HATE tobacco and i generally smoke alone, just using my bubbler. However, when i'm with my friends all they do is smoke joints and guess what, they put tobacco in them. I'm not gonna pass up getting high, so I just accept it... =/ I will NEVER roll a joint mixed with tobacco, i refuse!

I put a very small amount of tobacco in some of my joints, it makes it burn better and doesnt effect the taste at all. [as long as you get the amounts right.]

I always use a lil splash of tobacco in my joints. Helps em burn better and longer if you get the blend right and no it doesnt effect the taste or high. And I always use tobacco in my hookah, shit burns for AGES!! It's a UK thing, coz us Brits know what we're doing when it comes to the herb!:thumbsup:

It's popular to smoke joints with tobacco in Montreal also. I can't tolorate it though.

if i dont have enough bud for a joint ill throw some tobacco in it, you cant hold it in forever tho, but it does give you a nicotine fix as well as a pot fix some people like it, others dont

OK, here in the UK it is considered to be quite extravagent to smoke "purees" (what you lot call joints). (We leave that for the posh public school kids... which are the schools you pay for by the way. Its historic.)

We smoke spliffs which are about 50% tobacco. Tobacco makes the spliff smoke evenly, more efficiently (it keeps the weed at the correct heat) and stops it from going out. Don't you guys find it annoying when your passing a joint around and it keeps going out? Don't try to say its about rolling technique cos we roll the best spliffs around! Good weed goes out when smoked pure.

Oh by the way if you want to roll with backy get rolling backy (in the UK golden virginia is best). If your on the move however it can be handy to roll with a cig.)... I'll refrain from saying fag for your benefit :rasta:

Edit: Oh yeah and also with the skunk we get over here, a puree blows your mind! When i'm low on money and get standard weed I have to say I do boost up the weed/ backy ratio and normally do an L-skin which is about an inch longer spliff.

I don't know what kind of weed you're smoking, or what types of rolling papers you use, but my joints (100% weed) have never stopped burning unless I put them out. Maybe we use different methods? Instead of cone-shaped, mine resemble typical cigarettes.
