I do HVAC work during the week for my father. I make fairly well for what I do. $10 w/ benefits which has allowed me to be off all week toking after I got hurt.
I also have a parttimer at a skating rink I have been skating at since they opened and DJ'ing/managing at for the last 7 years. I make $12 an hour, no taxes and I get baked prior to and on my lunch break and at work sit in a booth on the internet and eat nachos /pizza all day.
The dee is handed over to me in 6 years ago. :rasta:\"All smiles and sunshine, a perfect world on a perfect day,

I'm a college student and a tutor at a local middle school, 10.50 an hour. Pays the bills, which, living at home, aren't much more than food, weed, and...um...that's about it.

Well, I make it real easy!
One large chicken/capon in large stock pot, covered in water, boiled with 3 cup up onions and a chunk of celery root a couple of parsnips and turnips.
I slow boil that for hours. About 2 hours in, I add large chunks of celery and carrots. (sometimes I use a bay leaf or 2)
Around the 3.5-4 hour point, I take the chicken out, let it cool and debone it (it's already mostly deboned so it's just a matter of cutting up the pieces).
Depending on how strong the broth is, I may add water or a large can of college inn chicken broth.
Sometimes I add some barley or fine noodles in the last 30-45 minutes.
Then there are always choices of matzoh balls or kreplach.
We usually have one bowl the first night just because we can't wait but I like to put it in the fridge overnight and skim off all the fat THEN do the matzoh balls.
I do hope you'll try it because I swear, it cures all.

That looks great, Tootsie! Thanks for sharing your bubbe's recipe. I never have seen anyone make chicken soup with parsnips and turnips--or with celery root instead of regular celery to season the broth. Those additions sound great. I look forward to making that. In fact, I may make some this week for my sister. About all she feels like now is broth or applesauce, and that's only on the good days. This soup would have to do her some good. Thanks again!

YW birdgirl. I really hope it's something your sister will like. It will make her feel so much better and the tastes are so intricate her buds may love it. The soup always gave my dad a bit of a lift when he could eat.

I love the celery in the soup and I'll go past the huge stalks and use the whole tender part. Just trim the bottom edge.
I'm in a bubbe mood this week. Tonight I made a kugel. lol

Birdgirl, I forgot to add....you may want to strain the soup through some cheesecloth for your sister. That way she wont get anything but the broth (no chicken pieces or anything that will make her feel icky) and you can give her a small side bowl of fine noodles in case she'd like to add some in.
Infact know whats good? Manischewitz egg noodles, barley shaped. Teeny soft tasty egg noodles.

that must be nice. I am a full time dental student living off student loans (and a shitload of them at that) as well as the pocket change I earn at a retail store in the mall $8/hour but they never fucking give me enough hours. My husband is a restaurant employee and he is no help, he is always broke too.
