Blacklight in your growroom <---Link
Nochowderforyou is right. But to elaborate a little, I supposed you are suggesting this because maybe you read somewhere that using ultraviolet light helps increase the trichrome production and therefore increasing potency. It has also been claimed to make denser buds.Originally Posted by Nochowderforyou
No you cannot. They do not create the correct light spectrum for growing.
This is definitely a cool concept and it would be wicked to experiment with it sometime but here is the reason the blacklight won't work (only cuz I had the same questions recently and I researched it):
A blacklight produces UVA light. MJ plants require UVB light. Its that simple. You can get a reptile light that produces UVB rays up to about 7%. They sell these cuz lizards also need UVB light for some of their processes. The only thing you gotta watch out for is the heat. Apparently, from what I understand, those repile lights are mighty hot, seeing as reptiles are cool blooded and need heat lamps also so they tend to build them that way. If you do get one, I would love to know how it works! Rock on.

But thats just my :twocents: If you use it anyway and it works, let us know!!
