power bill ?

i havet5 4' lamp w/4 ho/54w/865 halide running 18/6 would that make power bill jump 100 dollas or so cause something sure has?i have one more question my little ones i have started they are yellowing abit,ijust used blackkow and topsoil,and no other nutes there in out building in a closet with no heat and its getting down in the 50's would that be the problem?or could lights be to close there h/o floros i thought you could hang atleast 2" from seedling but there about three weeks and are small maybe an inch&half tall will send pic when i find camra but if not going to beable to control heat for winter in the building do i need to bring it in or just wait till it start to warm up again its just hard when you spend your money you want some prgress but not been able to get one on its way any help greatly appreciated

if you are useing halide lights they are no good for growing.Alot of heat,too much heat.If you are going to use top soil and blackcow mix perlite in with the mix.Mix 1 part blackcow 1 part perlite 1 part vermiculite 1/2 part topsoil 2 parts schultz peat moss.This will hold moisture and let the roots breathe and drain.This is a good mix its what I grow in.Your temps should be 68* to 85*.
Get some cfls lights or hps for grow lights.If you want to know how much electric one light will use {wattsxhours =kwh}look at your ele.bill they will tell you how much 1 kwh cost.Say you have a 400 watt light and you run it for 18 hours a day,400 x 18 =7200 which is 7.2 kilowatts a day.Times 30 days =216
killowatts x $0.11 =$23.76 per month.It cost me around $35.00 to $40.00 a month for electric to run my 400 watt light and fans .Hope this is some help to you.

Well, I'm sure someone is going to mention this and in clearer terms, but by HALIDE...do you mean Metal Halide? That is fine for Vegging. BUT, if you meant HALOGEN, then crazywill is right...they are useless.

at first i had 2 ho/54w/840 halide&2ho/54w/840 sodium but everyone said the blue spectrume and red was killing seedlings, so i went to 4 halide during veg but cant get them up high to start 12/12 w/ red spectrum any help?new wave t5 4'lamp w/ 4 bulbs

Well, I think that you are either labeling something wrong or the light company is lying to you. LOL. Please post a pic of the lights and the LABEL on the lights, please. I also have a very hard time reading your words right now. Maybe I just need to take a puff and focus, but ...if you have a T5 lamp, your plants should most DEFINITELY be much bigger than you claim. PICS would help greatly. THanks
