From my knowledge Pothead is the word we should prefer. because pothead means a habitual pot smoker, isint that what we are? stoner is like someone who lays on the couch all day smoking weed. if crackheads love crack, and pot heads love pot. There are a couple people I know that refer to themselves as potheads all the time, but take offense when non-stoners call them potheads..

By mentally addicted I meant if I quit right now thats all I would think about.

"Pothead" and "Stoner" were originally a shame based label put on by society to the Marijuana user. I always said it's like the "N" word. It's cool if the person is on your side and saying it, But not if it's an outsider tryin to hate on you.

Not everyone is gonna approve of your choosen lifestyle, You just gotta accept that and not let it bring you down.

Stoners are the funny guys you can always relax and smoke with, with absolutely no drama and a mellow environment.

A pothead may or may not have all of the above, but a pothead feels he must smoke just to be able to mentally function. Not literally, but a pothead is someone who is always looking for an excuse to smoke. Which isn't bad, but it is when done in excess. And it can get annoying. We all have one of those friends. Potheads aren't bad people, but they take it to the extreme.
