Hi I'm looking for a good techno or electronica artist or DJ that has some songs that tell a story. Some of that crazy ass shit, but not so much of the repetitive stuff. I've been listening to some infected mushrooms if that can help anyone.

I'll go with some big names since you're new to genre, I'm assuming?
ATB
Tiesto
Paul Van Dyk
Paul Oakenfold
Infected Mushroom
Shpongle
Astral Projection
Hallucinogen
Benny Benassi
Juno Reactor
Tomcraft
Sasha & Digweed
There is a ton of good electronic music out there, but I enjoy singles and not entire artists really.

Wow, I just looked up a few of those artists on iTunes and that is some fucking heavy tripping music. I was never much one for techo but christ... What songs would you recommend thatare the "Stairway to Heaven" or "Smells like teen spirit" creme de la ceme of that type of techno

Yea, I liked them. I like how they infused real instruments with the synth ones. Real instruments are infinately more complex so end up sounding a whole lot trippier.

"Stairway to Heaven" and "Smells like Teen Spirit" are not techno songs.

Love that! I'm getting sidetracked again, but if you're looking for something more rock then check out the song "Dazed and Confused" by Led Zeppelin. Greatest song ever.

Yea, that was what I was trying to get at. I tend to talk in very roundabout terms... I didnt like that song as much as the infected mushroom stuff. The mushroom stuff has so much sound packed into each second it's like sensory overload.

Understandable, and I'm sure LegallyBlind might appreciate that last song more since he wants music that "tell a story" and Infected Mushroom is far from doing that lol. Fikusroot, try this out...I think this is more your type?
