Cutting a hole???
Depends what size hole you are making.
If it is 1/2" or smaller, like for wires or something, you can get a "boring drill bit." That works beautifully for small holes. If you dont have anything else, and you are trying to make a bigger hole, you can still use this drill bit to make several holes around the edge of your big hole, then shave off the rest with a hand saw! It's not as precise as a jigsaw, but not everyone has one of them, and trust me, you can even screw it up worse if you let that get away from you.
Happy drilling! Dont get bored! I crack myself up...

Edit: They also make "saws" that attach to a drill that will make a 4" hole or larger even. They're not dirt cheap but maybe worth it. I'll try to find a pic to post.
