Couple questions
I have been growing a couple ice and a couple white widow's and it's my first go around. Some are in veg and I swithed some over to 12/12.
1) It's been two weeks since I switched them and they don't appear to be flowering, is that normal?
2) Based on pics, can you tell if this is a m or f?
3) I am using 6 4' flo lights on the sides and 150w HPS on top, is this enough for 6 plants to flower?
Any comments would help. They are in soil and i probably moved some over a little soon.jonny1226 Reviewed by jonny1226 on . Couple questions
Hi Johnny,
I am going to assume you have 2 grow areas.. correct.. and the light from your veg room does not leak into your flower room?
It is very important that your FLOWERING plants get 12 hours of uniterupted darkness every 24 hours. VITAL!! : )
It can often take 10-15 days for a plant to show its sex.. they should be showing NOW or tomorrow. can you post a close up picture of the nodes?
Your plants look very healthy especially for a first time grower... very nice tight nodal growth.. : )
Your lighting is ADEQUATE.. keep the lights as close as possible to your plants without burning them.. with good air flow you should be able to keep the Fluorescents less than 1 inch from your plants and your HPS no further than 10 inches.. this will dramatically effect your yield and cola size!!!
keep us posted..

Couple questions
Thanks, it's a process thats for sure but I am addicted!! I will post a couple more pics as they are changing quick. Couple other questions I couldn't find answers to -
1) When a male can be identified, how quickly must it be removed? Will polenation occur in a day, an hour?
2) 12/12 with no light, how dark and if moonlight or something similiar, no direct light, will it screw things up?
3) When should you move from veg to 12/12? What is the best sign?
Thanks for everything, my clones have already rooted and I got 2 more ice and 1 other widow that are 28 days in and looking great.
Thanks
J

Couple questions
1. The moment you see grape ball looking pods, remove the plant its a male.
2. Yes a 12/12 cycle of complete darkness is required to mimic short days of fall, no light must interput the plants sleep patern.
3. I would assume you would measure your plant? When you change them to flower cycle you need to know they usually double in size.

Couple questions
The males are easily identified by their sacs before the sacs open and the pollen spreads to females. Males show sex before females. Don't stress about pollination, just remove the males when you see the sacs and you will be OK.

Couple questions
Well they all appear to be females and all my clones took and it just gets better every day. Now for the questions. I have read more articles than I know what to do and everyone says different stuff. I am not using anything but water on them, what should I be using and should I add more lights?

Couple questions
if you can add more light, do so. it won't do anything but help, as long as your temps don't get too high. as far as feeding, soon as you have an actual, physical bud (ie marble size), start feeding. n p k you want a higher p value. i use 15 30 15 for my outdoor plants. this may be to potent for your indoor grow, so check behind me. maybe a 1 5 1?
hope this helps,
love, brookegrow, or grow not. there is no try.
