ok well im about to start making some trips for my dealer, about an hour long trip twice a week to make some good money and he said that he started to trust me and my friends, but i will be getting about a pound of weed at a time and dont want to get fucked by the cops so my question is, if your weed is in a lockbox and the police search your car, can they make you open it or take it?

Yes, they can search EVERYTHING in the car if they have cause. Ignore the post above, if that was the truth, every drug smuggler in the world would keep his weed in a lockbox. And you do know if they catch you with that much weed, your gona lose the car also

that is correct....my only suggestion would be put in glovebox..if it has a lock and say the key is missing. offer the piggy your keys to check...but i would hide it in something in the car, make a compartment under your hood..like a spare windshield washer fluid holder..mount to the firewall...that will keep ya safe unless they bring the dogs.

It actually all depends on what state you live in. Since you have not given us this information I don't know how so many can be so sure in their responses.

cops cannot search your car even if they smell weed, if the weed is in plain sight, the plain sight law comes into play and they can legally search your car. okay, im gonna lay this out for you man. when a cop pulls you over, put your hands on top of the stearing wheel so he can see them, then roll your window down enough so that you can understand him and pass drivers license and registration through it, although if he asks you to roll down your window more you should do it. when he gets to the window ask him why he pulled you over, when he asks how fast you were going, dont answer you have the fifth amendament right to not bear witness unto yourself. if he asks you to step out of the car, roll up your window and lock your door and put the keys in your pocket. when he asks you if he can search your car tell him exactly this "i do not consent to ANY searches" dont say "no" say "i do not consent to any searches". refusal to a search cannot be used as probable cause for a search, this is protected by the bill of rights, the fourth amendament if i remember right. dont let him scare you with threats of "bringing in the dogs" he cant do that because refusal for a search cannot be used as probably cause, remember? after hes done threatening you and lecturing you ask him this" are you detaining me or am i free to go?" dont wait for him to tell you you are free to go, ask. he cant do anything to you but give you a ticket for whatever it is that he pulls you over for, whether its speeding, switching lanes without signaling or whatever, and graciously accept it. remember to always be kind and couteous to the officer as this will piss him off on the inside, but he cant say " well he was kind and courteous to me so i slammed him up against the car and arrested him" get it? i still suggest you watch the video i gave a link for until you know it by heart, it teaches you your rights and how to escape police encounters unarrested

This is a real good video. Studying this is good. I mean alot of people act because they know they got stuff so they panic.
