Snuff products?

I'm noticing something in a lot of headshops these days, self described "snuff" products.

I was of the understanding that snuff hasnâ??t been used since the 1700's. Is it on its way back? Is there some cannabis use that I'm missing? Are they for other drugs?

I really hope that I haven't missed some new development within the stoner culture; I don't want to feel old.

I like the jasmine flavor myself. Basically, it's just a ciggy substitute.

"Snuff," as I understand it, is powdered tobacco which is snorted. The only way I know about it is studying the 18th century during college. I had no idea it is still used.

wtf? how does snorting tobacco have any effect on you? it's just tobacco dust being put directly onto your brain.

As I remember it was a fashionable thing for ladies to use in Europe. It would "clear your head" and was thus also prescribed as a sinus medication.

They did a lot of strange things with tobacco when it was new to Europe, make it into tea, eat it, ect.

you do tghat shit its like smoking 8 cigs to your head. Major downfall though is it turns your snot brown, and if you have a runny nose you look goofy as hell.

the old hillbillies do this in the mountains but they dont snort it they use it like chewing tobacco. just put it in the lip or jaw between teeth and let it soak and spit the juice. its nasty and makes a mess. when i lived in the hills i would see old ppl with brown stuff dripping out the side their mouth
