Longboard SkateboardsAlright, so since my license just got suspended and i live in a relatively small town, i decided im going to buy a longboard and use that as my main mode of transportation. I used to be a big time skateboarder so i figured riding a longboard would be fun as hell. So im gunna drop like 80-100 dollars on the deck, and 20-30 on the wheels, and planning to use some old trucks from when i used to skateboard. I have a fairly new pair of tensor mids that i only used for like 2 weeks before i gave up on skating because a broken hip. So my question is, can you use trucks from a normal skateboard, or are there some kind of special trucks for longboards or something? Feebs420 Reviewed by Feebs420 on . Longboard SkateboardsI think, but dont hold me to this, that long boards [if they are the ones im thinking off] have a wider wheel base than a skateboard.

Why not go on some sites and get some measurements?

Longboard Skateboardswell since im just gunna be using it for transportation, a longboard is, in my opinion, is a better choice. They go faster, ride alot smoother and are just more fun. I think im just gunna use my old tensors and just use some risers if the wheels end up being too big.

Longboard SkateboardsIm pretty sure the trucks for a long board is diffrent from a regular short board trucks. I dont know all I have is a long board. I dont really ride it no more but when I do its real fun, and easy to fuck yourself up. Witch I did many times but just go buy the whole package or somthing and have fun an be safe.

Longboard SkateboardsAnyone have one? Any good brands? Experiences?

I'm looking at getting the Dreg's - Ode to Joy, or a Sector9 if the one I just bid'd on doesn't go through.

The one I bid'd on is a Fly1, a custom made board by some guy in California.

My friend has a Sector 9, and it's bouncy, and long, but it still turns well, I love it

Longboard SkateboardsI don't think plain old trucks will work on a longboard, they have a much wider wheel base. I suggest you look into getting a set of 8" Gull Wings.

Longboard SkateboardsNo, classic trucks on a skateboard will not work for longboards. Longboard trucks have a much wider truck base than usual trick skateboards. I've ridden one a few times and they are much easier to ride than classic boards. Fun as well.

I recommend just buying a complete board. It would be cheaper than buying the parts seperate, and longboards are just for cruising, so high quality part, in my opinion, are not needed.

I know here in Canada, complete longboards go for about $250. That's what I would recommend.
