How do I lower high Humidity

This is my second go at growing, however this time around I live in a hot & very humid climate.

I already realize that my lights need to be on at night to control the heat and although I have not measured the humidity in the room yet (just getting started) I have a feeling high humidity may be a problem especially during the flowering stage.

If humidity is a problem will a dehumidifier work or are there other ways to lower the humidity that are more cost effective.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

How do I lower high Humidity

I got a dehumidifier for my grow area because the basement can get damp at times, works like a charm.

How do I lower high Humidity

It seems that most people on here have a problem with low humidity, which is an easier and cheaper fix.

I was just told that with a dehumidifier I won't need an AC. It seems that the dehumidifier works in cooling down the air and is more cost effective. Do you know if this is true?

..a digital thermometer that records high and low temps and records humidity too is very helpful. What kind of lights are you using? I found HPS lights dropped the average humidity readings 20% in my closet. 70-85 degrees F and around 50% humidity works good. An A/C would be easier to control things with.
