whats so bad about a male plant?
because it doesnt produce buds like the female plant, which is what is usually smoked. The males also polinate the females which make the females produce seeds instead of buds, making seedy bud that has less thc. When it doesnt get polinated by a male, it doesnt produce seeds and uses the energy to produce the thc instead.

whats so bad about a male plant?
personally, I'm always hoping for a male, so I can breed some seeds (and save $$$) ... the old wives' tale that 'going to seed' somehow weakens the female plant's potency is NOT TRUE ... yes, when going into the seed phase, the plant's GROWTH ceases, but not the THC potency ... then, when done making seeds, the THC production starts up again (of course, by then, you're probably ready to harvest) ... without the male pollen, there is NO cannabis on the planet (Mother Nature is too lazy to clone
) ...
"When it doesnt get polinated by a male, it doesnt produce seeds and uses the energy to produce the thc instead" ... = URBAN MYTH, just not so ... (and I have the technical documentation to prove it) ... :smokin:

my advice, keep the males and cut the flowers off, using the flowers to pollinate a small portion of your buds for future seeds

yes, yield is reduced somewhat, because there are now seeds growing where the flowers were, BUT ... the resulting seeds will give me an inexhaustible supply for years, I can't afford to keep buying those high-dollar seeds ... and, you can always remove the male plants from the growing area, collect the pollen on a paintbrush, and 'paint' the pollen onto just a few of the lower female flowers, so you will have the best of both worlds: buds on top, seeds below ... :smokin:
