The A-Team was from the early 80s...after a relaxed attitude toward pot in the 70s...Regan got much of the nation swept up in "Just Say No" reinforcing propoganda that lumps marijuana in with hard drugs.

Also at that time, at least in California, crop dusting was a hot button issue...crop dusters would fly over your backyard (yes, private property!) and spray malathion to kill Mediterranen fruit flies. So, maybe it was a bit of art imitating life.

You can bet that when Mr. T showed up at the end of the episode to give a public service announcement to kids, that he had just been tokin up in his trailer.
