Don't use the gro-lux. There lighing is too far into the blue spectrum. If going with flourecents, they say the best is just regular cool white with regular daylight bulbs, although I have had good success with all cool white. I know use HPS but for smaller grows Flourecents are fine. Hope this helps a little.

if using 48" tubes, use the 'GE cool white' for vegetation, and the 'GE kitchen & bath' for flowering ... they dont have to be GE, just the most common ones out there ... WalMart carries them ... :smokin:

just for a few examples,
48" 34 watt cool white T-8 lamps produce aprox 90 lumens/watt
48" 54 watt T-5 cool white lamps produce aprox 92 lumens/watt
CFLs from 42W to 200W produce an average of 64 lumens/watt
The best ($$$) HPSs will max at 150 lumens/watt while average 250 W HPSs will produce around 116 lu/w and the wee 35W HPSs get as low as 64 Lu/w

I used T-10 40-watt tubes, exclusively ... I always felt the more powerful T-5s were too costly, for their lumen output ... cheaper to just run a couple extra T-10s ... when I got up to twelve tubes, it got too cumbersome, so I switched to HPS ... I will always have good opinions of tubes, though ... :smokin:
