    Virgin Cabinet Grower

    Hello people,

Would anyone out there be kind enough to provide me with cabinet growing information? i have taken time to read up but would luv to recieve some professional advice on this matter. This will be much appreciated!

Ok...Ive managed to get myself a decent size WHITE wardrobe (71 inches high, 29.5" wide and 20" deep). I wanna keep things simple as i dont like things to get too complicated.

Here are the list of items i am planning to purchase for the wardrobe:

    1) Extracter fan (I'm not sure of the size to get..any recommendations?)
    2) Carbon filter
    3) 250w HPS Light
    4) Cooling tube (Not sure of the size to get. Any suggestions?)

Is there any other (cheaper way) on preventing over heating/fire other than a cooling tube?

    5) Digital Thermohygrometer
    6) Normal fan
    7) Some kind of timer for the light and fan
    8) Plant pots, Nutrients & low PH level Soil

Guys...is there anything else that i am vitally missing?

I would really appreciate the help from anyone who is willing to share their knowledge in cabinet growing.

    Thankyou folks

ok 1st off thats a perfect cab size if all u want to do is veg and flower all at once. aftter 1st grow u will have bigger and better plans trust me.(thats a good thing) start your seedlings under 3-4 cfls, bigger the better. 2nd
of all, scrap the 250wt. after your seedlings are about 4in tall with a couple of nodes, put them under 400w mh. i would suggest 400w hps ballest hen you can get 400w mh bulb that will run off of the hps ballest. so when your ready to flower just swap bulbs to the hps. also you can leave the cfls in there also. as for cool tubes, if your ventalation is adiquit u shoudent need it.
im to high to think any more tonite, someone else will shurly have more to add. hope this helps.

    250 HPS for flowering.
what lights do u have for veg. stage?
u don't need timer for fans, as long u dont have CO2 system in your garden...
fan that brings air IN should be less powerful, than fan, that suck air OUT...
how many plants r u planing to have in your wardrobe? what are growing space measurments?

Thanks for the response guys! God Bless Ya..he he he.
Im off to 'HOMEBASE' tomoz to see what my local DIY shop have.

To CMORBUD, u got me thinkin about those cfls lights-i was gonna bypass them and stick with my 250w throughout all the stages. But ur making me go hmmmm..maybe i shud go for the cfls! Thanks for the info bud.

To Orange cloud: Im gonna be checking the equip out tomoz. If they dont have the stuff i will have to visit my nearest hydroponic shop asap (Im dying to become a jedi master in growin the best smellin plant in the world! The info on the power of fans will defo come in handy. Im planning to have 3 plants in my wardrobe. and the growing space measurements are perhaps just under the wardrobe size given. Maybe take off 6 inches of the height of the wardrobe as this will be for the lamps etc.

once again guy..cheers for the info.
To everybody: Any further info with regards to cabinet growing will be eagerly awaited...lol

when it gets up and running i will post some pics
    Thankyou

If you can get the 42watt cfls go for them, i'd say get around 5, giving you over 200 watts (for 4 feet sq i reckon thats right, but the more the better within reason) or if you can get envirolites (they're just a big cfl) i'd recommend getting one of those, they do a 125 and 200 watt lamp. Remember to the daylight or cool white and not warm white for vegging.

    Nice one Hudson!
If u dont minw, Wud u care to explain:
''Remember to the daylight or cool white and not warm white for vegging."
    I dont quite get it.
Do u think Homebase will stock CFL's and envirolites..if not wheres the next best (as im imagining not all Hydro shops supply this)

Ok, hear is what I think you should do to keep a constant cycle going. Make two sepperate grow areas, use the top 20 inches approx for a veg slash mother cab. Put 3 42w 6500K bulbs in there and that will take care of veg lighting or go with 5 23w CFL bulbs. Then use the bottem area to throw that 250w up in for your flowering plants. You will always have some plants ready to throw into flower and have a harvest every 2 months. If this is something you would like to do I can get more spacific on plans.

i have been told that because of the size of my cabinet, i would only need an extracter fan to take the air out and that i shudnt bother about a fan which takes air in. They said that all i need is a vent hole at the bottom of the wardrobe. i would prefer to attach a duct to the bottom of the cabinet that supplies fresh air from the outside.
what do u guys think to this debate....be content with just a hole cut out at the bottom or adding an in ward sucking fan (from the outside environment) to the bottom of the wardrobe?
    cheers dudes or dudettes
