If you speed it up you will get some harsh smoke. I usually hang dry in a cool basement until the outside of the buds are crunchy. Then I put the trimmed buds in big zip lock bags over night. Then take them out and air dry for 12 hours again. Repeat this about four or five times. The more the better. The bags bring the remaining moisture out from the inside and make the buds uniform. Also, this slows the drying process and makes it taste beautiful and smooth.

But, if you really need to speed things up the quickest and least destructive way would be to use a space heater. Place the buds level on a piece of newspaper and make sure the buds are not stacked ontop of one another. Then place the space heater close but not too close. The farther it is away the longer it will take to dry but also the better it will taste.
