Lol doing research convinced me to use fluoro's for cloning and vegging before I even started. IMO unless your using HPS's and MH's together for flowering, MH's just seem like too much money spent on a light for vegging. I always believed fluoros we're cheaper and just as well for the vegging and cloning job.

Yeah I seen those, the plants look very good man. And those lights look so cool lol, I'm gonna have to buy one of those. Where did you get yours? If you got your's online could you link me to the web-site?

Yeah I cant hardly wait myself...At first I was using just a regular household oscilating fan to move the stale air around...as i got further into growing my house started to really stink(my grow is in my closet in my room on the second floor)you could smell the weeds right as soon as you stepped in the front door of the house. I went ahead and installed a 12"extraction fan in the window that leads to the back yard...that now creates a negative airflow when the door is shut...The fan actually sucks air from the cracks and crevices and no air or smell gets out...I havent really measured the temp since its really not hot at all...I read once that if you are confortable with the temp than your plants are to...If I had to estimate Id say its about 75 degrees in there...I use a local organic brand two part nute sytem aswell as fluoralicious plus and now im adding tiger bloom...Ive burnt my plants in the past so Im taking it real easy on the nutes this time around...Growing is a lot like cooking...just have to watch and see how your plants react...No bugs thank god!! A little but of algae in the canals when plants were small but it has greatly reduced now that there is more of a canopy in there...I have noticed though that algae grows really well under this light for some reason...I read that algae wont really hurt your plants though as long as its in small amounts...thats all I have is small amounts!!:dance: :smokin:

I have been reading the whole post for a while, now. It is exactly the kind of post i've been looking for. I've been searching for a heatless alternative light source, i need a sleek and contemporary closet (inside-out), noiseless with ease control over the climate and a great yield producer. My only problem was the light source, until i discovered the t5s. I am sure the plants adore an enviroment free of the harmful IR radiaton of the HPS. Nowdays you see that fluoros are starting to be efficient enough. Considering the past and all the up to date developments, i believe that next generation fluoros will definetely be better than HIDs in any way.
I am just about to build my happy-closet, so tico you cant imagine how much i wait your ladies to groooow and how much i will n'joy their maturity!

Something else, i do not recommend the standar aquarium fixtures (like the expensive and beautiful TEK Light) because of the absense of intermediate reflectors in between the lamps. Light is not distributed evenly downwards and a lot of it is wasted in and around the lamps.

I'm not sure what to say. I've been following this thread for a few days now as PTS has implied I've wondered about the legitimacy of this grow myself. When I saw the "*uck8 you* paperwork I thought it was pretty convincing. My problem now is the rapid growth over a 3 day period. On 10/23/06 Tico said "heres some more pics...these were taken this morning....". On 10/25/06 Tico said "here goes today's pic...". How bout giving us the same angle shots each day. While writing this response I spent a good amount of time going back and forth between pictures. Blowing them up to full size and trying to tell if I could see if the plants could grow that much in 2 days. Not blown up there seems to be a big difference in the buds but closer up I can't tell. Maybe different angles. If this is a true grow, with the amount of bud you've got on your plants, you better not rely on the T-5. I already see light missing near the bottom and that will allow for a lesser harvest in the end. Maybe put some of those lights on the side.. I'm new to the forum but have been growing for 15 years and am having a hard time believing this could be true. I guess I'll just stay tuned.

Would this be fixed by the use of mylar on the walls? I am also interested in the performance of this fixture. Reflectors between the bulbs would definitely be a better performer than one without.

Hmm, elamentary my dear GK. LOL.
With using CO2 with the T5's, you may run into some dificulties, wonder why, can anyone guess the answer?
