I will add my 2 cents about T5s. They rock.

We recently did an experiement where 2/3 of our babies went under 6 T5 42watt bulbs and the other 1/3 went under an HPS. Obviously an MH would have been better but Ive never seen enough of a difference to invest in an MH bulb (even have a ballsat, lazy i guess). The T5 did not have better growth, but neither did the HPS. On the whole, you really could not tell the difference if the plants were right under the light.

The big difference is that we never really moved the HPS and we had to move the T5s everyday, sometimes twice a day!!! The other problem was that you cannot stick plants on the outside. You drastically loose lumens with T5s compared to an HID light. So the plants on the outside of the HPS did wonderful, no stretching, but the plants on the outside of T5s did have rather long node spacing. But that is obviously our fault for trying to stuff so many plants under them.

I am very convinced they are a GREAT investment for veg. However for flowering I think they are a joke unless you have LSTed the plants like crazy. They cannot penetrate worth a damn.

However, if you get nearly the same or the same growth as an HPS, you must also remember that you use less energy and the heat is much more manageable with T5s compared to HID. I will continue to use them on fresh clones and most of veg.
