does anyone know how to run psychedelic light shows using glass plates, oil, dyes and overhead projectors? I want to toy with it but i dont know where to begin. what i have in mind is something similar to that which was played while jefferson airplane performed at the fillmore east...

your advice is appreciated.

hm..well all i could think of would be to get the dyed oil (maybe oils of different densities could be used, i think itd be cooler so they dont jsut combine and turn brown) but anyways put those dyed oils on the plate, put thta on an overhead and swirl it around. and tell me if it works, bc that sounds pretty cool. i have that jefferson airplane video.

im gonna try it when i get my hands on an overhead projector. the fuckers are expensive, like thousands of dollars for a single projector.

this will be the bomb diggity tho.

the same effect is available in a few different effects fixtures. the ones I found now look nice.

actually its all u need.. its as simple as that.. just the amount of food coloring vs mineral oil is up to you.
takes a bit of practice to get the colors you want
