ok thanks, anyone know if adding crushed calcium pills and vitamins for added phosphorous would help? i am like, really low on funds and need to use whatever is around the house, seeing as we're too poor to go out and buy all these superthive mega godly fertilizers that everyone speaks wonders about. and what food item would i add to the mix for nitrogen. also, you know those freezers that make ice cubes, i heard that the air bubbles trapped inside of them are co2, is this true?

    heheh, chopped liver, lol

adding all that shit isn't going to be a good idea. you can pick up ferts for super cheap. fish emulsion 7$ good nitrogen source. OR blood meal 8$ bone meal =8$ its not much and it will actually benefit the plant.
Synthetic ferts arn't much either, if you just buy the basics. for 60$ i got enough grow, micro and bloom to mix over 2000 liters of it

I dont know the specifics about the vits you talk of. but i know that for a plant to absorb say phosphorus it needs to be in an available form. So humans (which the pill is intended for) may need a different form that is unavailable for the plant or toxic for the plant.

More to the point you are guessing about the amounts and it could kill them. I wouldn't do it.

if you are goin to make your own compost (great idea, i wana get a worm composer for my apartment) and you want a nitrogen source. a good one is coffee grounds. Go to the local coffee place at the end of a busy day and ask for the coffee grinds (hopefully organic/free trade, they you can say your buds are free trade)

keep in mind that there is a lot of nitrogen in coffee so you might want to read about how much to use in your soil mix.

Im going to buy Earthjuice Grow, Bloom, Meta - K and Micro. Can anyone go into great detail about how i measure out the nutrients for making your own fertilizer.
Will there be instructions on the bag? Im going to go back and listen to The Grow Report I think Zandor explains it.

i just got 2 products from lowes; super bloom and root builder, both by green light. super bloom is totally kickass. 5.95 us. for veg i use miracle gro all purpose plant food 24 8 16 (no additives) if you use mg, make sure it is the kind you can use on vegetables. price...6.00 us? something like that.

hope this helps you, chronic master!
