an 8th in a normal zip lock bagy looks sorta like an 3/4 inch tall (maby a little less) all the way acrossed the bag. (Usly, this can greatly differ with density of the buds)

Prices vary from place to place but around here 30 dollars can get you a quarter of good mids. 30 for an 8th of mids sounds crazy to me but hey it depends on your location.
