    Massive mental hangup

The last year has been good to me...
I just got into my 20's.. already have a diploma.. I work at an autoshop making 8.75hr, 36-44hr weeks (full time).. My name is on the deed with a sibling, so I have a house, and I have a car (though its torn to shit)...

Things seem good so far, but yet I have this weird depression..

I moved a city over, 40 min or so from the place I live at, just to finish up schooling, going to be moving back soon. Maybe partly is the frustration of constant changes?

My original group of friends been getting into feuds with eachother and the whole original clique is out. Some friends completly became coke fiends. Another seems to be getting heavy on the methadone and other opiates.. etc. I feel longing for the old ways and days.

At my job, I've worked at for a year now; the only raise I got was a competitive wage increase, from 8 to 8.75.. I have the second best bay time and even the bay support manager recognizes that I put out good effort. Just my manager that is in charge, is never around mostly and is a complete ass.

I havent really been able to afford to smoke, I go through about an ounce of shwag a month, If that. I was using 2ci alot earlier in the year, till I grew out of the phase; now I just eat some Liberty Caps (Nipplez) that grow in the cow fields (once a month maybe). So I dont think my depression is related to heavy drug use.

I dunno.. maybe it'll just pass. Any thoughts?

Yeah, you might just be goin through a stage or something, sounds to me like it'll pass. Similar things have happened to me, and I'm feelin great now.

Also man..8.75? I'm making 8.40, and I'm 17 (it's my first job). Tell that guy to give you a raise.

material things mean nothing when it comes to true happiness
the only to feel alive is to do what you want to do
working all day aint living but it is life
find a hobby and just get lost with it
Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres

8.75 is big money in some states, sounds like you should pick up a hard drug habit to cheer you up a little and blend in with your friends.

No way at 8.75 he can afford to be doing lines off his steering wheel, come on now.

Change is a difficult thing to accept sometimes. I'm in the same boat, my friend. Many changes in the air I once breathed. Can't find my comfort anywhere. Depression? Brain Damage? I think not...it's much more simple than that.

Go and speak to your doc bro, thats what they're there for. I went through a stage of depression for different reasons. Nothin a change of diet and exercise couldnt help!

Peace and keep ya chin up

Hey halos, unfortunately it seems to be pretty common for early 20-somethings to get into a little funk... lots of change during this time, because you're growing up, your goals are changing, and you tend to grow out of some of your dearest friends. I've been there (still am sometimes) and it sucks! But look at what you've already accomplished- a house, steady job, etc... Just keep on doing what's best for YOU, and everything else will fall into place.

yeah....if you have any type of personality/mood disorder....now is the time its going to come out......or it can be brought out by a heavy stressor...
(that happened to me this summer...i came out with bipolar type 2 and generalized anxiety disorder)
but i was also kinda deliberating that maybe at this age people start really growing up and making realizations and thats what puts them in a shitty mood and they think about how much time they have left and begin questioning if its worth it.....or what not.........
its funny bc i used to think that depressed/bipolar/etc people were just spoiled/attention seeking and it was all in their heads....until i went coo-coo for coa-coa puffs....
