What do I do if I find cannabis plants growing in the wild?

I once heard of booby traps found at a grow site that "only a Nam' Vet' would know how to make." They were basically shotgun shells pointed at kneecap level. Ouch!

this is true... i know of somebody that was growing outdoors on his own property and found others snooping around his grow sites... he yelled out into the bush that he was going back to the house to get his shotgun and that he suggested they leave the area immediately. needless to say... they were long gone very quickly.

Im new to growing. About 3 years worth. But every night i go to bed im thinking some asshole will take them. And the thing is, there a mess right now. But when iv fixed the problem il have fishing line tide to cans that would wake the dead!

Well, forgive me if I come off too frank here but most of you seemingly well meaning would be clone takers are forgetting how absolutely f*cked you will be if you get caught with them on the way home...assuming it's not from a plant behind your house there are obviously some seriously logistical issues with just "taking clones" from plants you find. You risk getting busted for their grow in the process by just being there in addition to your house/apt getting raided because if you are caught anywhere with live plants or clones even if it's in the middle of the woods trust me they are coming in your house and you are getting investigated.

Next, to all the wannabe Rambo's out there touting the booby traps and make-shift shotgun rigs..this is a really really really big no-no no matter what. You might get a slap on the wrist best case scenario for a few outdoor plants but once you involve booby traps and weapons we are talking best case scenario you only do the next 10 - 20 years in a federal prison. It's one thing to grow a few pot plants but you NEVER EVER EVER risk human life over it. If a police officer or other human being were to get hurt or God forbid KILLED by your dangerous theft deterent system and they find you..you are soooooooooooooooo absolutely toast. (they most likely will because you would'nt know about it until they busted your ass and threw away the key)

In closing, don't steal because you REALLY don't know who is watching....

Stealing is wrong and karma is very very very real trust me on that one.

Don't EVER go near or touch plants or clone them for that matter because your good green thumb intentions could also be mistaken as you stealing the plant by the owner and you might get your brains blown out or worse.

Don't EVER set booby traps or risk human life or safety because this is really really asking for trouble and possibly the rest of your life in prison, plus it gives all pot growers a bad name and we already have enough BS to deal with. If there is a trap or deadly device set by you there are a million and one things that could go wrong like maybe a kid finding your plants and not knowing better and you come to find a dead or severely wounded young child at your grow next time you visit..or see it on the news. Then what the hell do you do? And for some *strange* reason booby traps always seem to backfire somehow, it's just Murphy's law...if it can go wrong, it will whenever something as evil & negative as a booby trap is involved.

YOU are 100% responsible for whatever harm is done by the booby trap PLUS it's a deadly weapon in conjunction with an already existing felony for cultivation..very bad equation in the eyes of the law. And don't think you won't get caught if someone get's hurt or killed because you WILL, they will be sure of that even if it means scraping your DNA off every piece of evidence in the area and most likely video or even satellite's will be used to catch you. Why? Because you don't usually ever know it's gone bad until AFTER the fact. So be safe, sleep good at night..and NO "booby" traps ever..unless they are to catch stinky's sexy ripe perfect boobs hehehe

Now go grow your own & make sure you have multiple patches as back-ups!

If things are meant to grow well, they will. If not, then it just is'nt in the cards this time around..but, there can always be a next time if you do the right thing!

This question comes up every year about this time.

You might be out hiking and stumble across a single cannabis plant, or a whole bunch of them.

Your first reaction might be, "wow, that's a lot of pot, I can't wait to get it home and smoke it! That's enough for the whole winter!", or even "I bet I can sell that stuff and pay off my car loan!"

But please stop and think for a moment.

Someone has put those plants there, taken risks, and worked hard caring for them since June. They aren't just growing there by themselves and someone is going to be heartbroken that they're gone.

Think about the grower as another person.

Maybe they would like to have some smoke for the winter, but can't afford the prices that dealers charge.

Maybe they are growing a few plants to sell.

Maybe they are counting on that income to help buy food and fuel for the coming winter.

Remember too that one of the obstacles to the legalization of cannabis is the theft, violence, and general dishonesty that can spin off of it. When tokers can be ethical and all get along without stealing each others' stashes, and then having the snots beat out of them for it, the case becomes stronger that it is a relaxing and peaceful way to alter your perceptions.

So when you stumble on a plant in the woods, remember that as a toker, you are part of this community. Just leave it there for the person who grew it.

im so glad to see some one say this as well i was growing 7 plants scadderd thro the woods and now im down two only one plant and i kno it was ppl not anything else the left diggin tools at the site i was so pissed and have no idea who the were
