How long will it take me to go from seeds to smoking the finest of the dojah?

I plan to use Scrog or SOG, want to grow maybe 6 plants.

I also have a few more ?s

1. I have a 400 watt HPS, it seems to be that this is best suited for flowering, correct?

2. What size fluoros should I just for the beginning and Veg?

3. Charcoal filter or Ozone Generator which is better at completely removing all marijuana odor?

and last

4. Big jump on power bill with the use of the 400 watt? I live alone, hardly use any lights, but I have a big ass TV so I am sure that I am eating up some power.

to begin at the begining!,, you cannot grow SOG from seeds SOG { sea of green] can only be done from clones from a single mother!,, it also means like 36 plants per meter square,and small,, for these reasons you cannot grow SOG,,.
SCROG,{screen of green ] is used to train big plant, including those fron seed , under a mesh of about 2 inch or three inch squares!, however this is only suited to the more sativa of species, as the indicas will stay reasonably shortand very robust!, the idea being in screen of green that with say 4 meters sqare you only need two or three plants, training them under the nets this way can also help to make up the diference in hieght between plants, as they all remain the same hight under the net, the draw back is a leangthy grow! but is does have many advantages for the indoor grower who wants to sick to a couple of plants,,maybe for legal reasons!
the 400 watt HPS is fine for 1 meter square with mediun to small plants! as you give no info on the room, tent, or closet you grow in i can't coment more on the light , otherthan to say it is good for flowering and grow! depending on the bulb fitted!,.
again the floros would depend entirely on the room size!!,
i have chambers 1,20 meters wide and have compact floros, agrolamps!,for grow, however i have used tubes for grow and still use them for cloning, the best rule of thumb is to fill the width of the room ie 1.20 mM or four foot tubes in a four foot room!, space them every 6 inches max, alternating between growlux and white tubes!, these need to raise easily so they can be adjusted to optimun hiefght from the plant, every day if need be!
if you leave the HPS for fdlowering only it will save big time on the bill,,either chacoal or ozone, depending on your climate i guess!,
i have to use cool tube reflectors as i live in a warm climate so charcoal makes sence to me!, also my superskunk crops are very smelly! so i have to filter 24 hrs a day, dont want any smelly air rushing out!,

grow room size will either be a loft in my garage that is about 4 ft high with enough space to sleep maybe 4 people in sleeping bags or a small door sized closet that is about 8 ft tall. growing medium could be rockwool as i purchased a 6 plant hydro system online last year that i havent used, it has a resevoir, pump, and drippers. i am not sure exactly what this system is called. or i could go organic, but i already have hydro stuff with nutes, etc.

and can anyone answer about how long the growing process will take for these plants as i have read they are a hasty grower.

both ones really require clones while some have used feminized seed for scrog it is much better to use clones they do not all have to come from the same mother plant, a scrog consistanly outperforms a sog on yield while it does require more effort and time to train the plants it is ideal for smaller lights like the 400 hps that doesnt have really good light penetration or in rooms where plant height is limited.
so given you start from seed lets say you plant six and grow them to about 4-6 weeks old sex them and you end up with maybe 3 females take about 4 -5 clones from each female plant and succesfully root them in about 2 weeks and flower them in a sog or scrog at 1 or more plants per sq ft of screen you would probably be looking at about 4-5 months from start to finish if everything goes just right could easily take longer if something goes wrong. while you could use one or 2 plants to fill a large screen there is no advantage other than having less plants, the disadanvatge is you will have to veg the plants for quite a long time for the one or 2 plants to fill the screen area wich can easily add another month to it if not more scrog does good with indica and many indica and sativa crosses.
the 400 does not consume that much electricity and if your choices are the 400 hps or flouros would probably use the 400 hps even for veg stage at 8cents per kw hour it will raise your bill by about 30 dollars running it non stop so you can figure half that for flowering there is other stuff like fans ventilation that will add to the expense though.
would expect ozone generator to be the best but it can be bad for you and the plants if not setup properly.
