Plenty of growers have used CFLs throughout their entire grow and have yielded decent amounts. Like the guy above me says, it just depends on what you are wanting to get out of the grow. If you are just growing a plant or two for your personal stash, then 4-8 CFLs probably will do the job. But if you are looking to grow anything more than that, I would say invest in an HPS if possible.

With my current situation, I am not able to have an HPS, so I'm using CFLs throughout the entire grow.

Experiment and see how it works out. If you don't like the growth you're getting from CFLs, you can always upgrade to an HPS.

I haven't started my garden yet, but I'm doing some investigating and have run into a question: Is it possible to grow using nothing but fluorescent lighting? I know it's alright during the early stages, and a few people keep telling me that it shouldn't be a problem all the way thru, but everything that I read says fluourescents just don't give off enough light for the flowering stage. Anyone have any advice? Since it's my first time, should I just try to Rating: 5
