House Republicans And Religious Leaders Fire Back at Congressional Pages

Published: October 4, 2006

According to house speaker Dennis Hastert, Congressional Pages were warned, "Never give e-mail addresses to members of congress." Continued Hastert, "The majority of House Pages prefer to ignore these warnings."

Although the majority of Congressional Pages abide by the "strict" rules governing their behavior, some continue to act "like Deer caught in the headlights" when confronted with seductive advances from members of congress.

Said Christian fundamentalist, Pat Robertson, "This lurid and irresponsible behavior from the Congressional Pages goes against every biblical teaching."

Despite the certainty of Congressional Page wrongdoing, house Republicans, along with the Bush administration, are said to be meeting with Vatican officials to learn more about dealing with complex accusations of pedophilia, especially when a significant number of House Pages come to Washington from obvious hedonistic family structures.
