Do as much research as you can before you see the lawyer. See if you can locate the whereabouts of the teacher and see if you can get the records of her last school/legal issue. That way the lawyer won't have to spend billable hours on it.

I'll tell ya, sometimes teachers can be crappy. When I was in second grade, I guess I wouldn't sit down or something cuz the teacher, Mrs. Denby took off her scarf and tied me down to my chair. I'm waaaaaay older then you and I still remember it now and again. I'd love the idea of suing her but she's prolly either dead or in a nursing home by now.
