Pot really isn't chemically addictive, but it seems to me you're battling an obsessive, compulsive disorder. In that sense someone could be addicted to gambling, shoplifting, cleaning...anything. This is a situation where even something positive can become destructive.

I don't believe anyone is trying to brainwash you in NA. They're just battling their problems as you are. Maybe you don't agree with their methods and have to fine tune it for your own situation. I don't know what to tell you except that maybe if there was a way to channel all that emotional energy into your own well being and realize you can enjoy shows n' such without being blitzed. You can still be happy without it if you work at it. That's really what it all boils down too. We're trying to force our lives to be a good experience, and in the process, botch it all up and turn it into a nightmare. NA would probably be a valuable tool for you to keep you in a routine conductive to working out your issues and not letting them overwhelm you. Because it takes day to day self-discipline to make the good things happen and stay out of trouble.

Don't let yourself fall into a destructive, downhill roll. If you don't like NA find yourself a good therapist to help you work out your issues. Don't try to go it alone.
