What if we win in Colorado and/or Nevada?

I was just wondering what will happen if/when we win the marijuana initiatives in Colorado and/or Nevada?

Will the feds go after and arrest the state sanctioned marijuana outlets? The DEA already did it in California with the medical people and if they are willing to go after people like cancer patients why wouldn't they go after these other state sanctioned outlets? What will happen when they do?

What legal recourse will we have to stop them?

I wouldn't be surprised if the DEA raided the marijuana outlets. it's sickening but its true.

Well probably nothing would happen for a few year. If it works and crime is reduced etc. than maybe other states/cities/municipalities will adopt similar laws. Thus the road to legalization will be paved.

It'll probably be a little different in Nevada though. First, they already have legalized stuff that is a crime in almost every other state, so it won't be such a big deal if they legalize marijiana there. Second, operations in Nevada tend to be highly organized and regulated. Third, there will be a lot of money being made and going to the state. Lastly, do you think that Nevada state-run grow operations will have tight security and armed guards? Do you think that the DEA will want to tangle with such a venture?

if the new cannabis bill passes in Nevada, nothing will change, except 'most' local cops won't bother to enforce the drug laws ... the laws are Federal, and no amount of State permission means diddly ... word ... :smokin:

My mom have lung cancer and its inoperable. She s been going through chemo off and on and the pills they geave her for the nausea didn't work, so I hooked her up with some weed. It settled her stomach and gave her the munchies so she would atleast eat and didn't lose so much weight. I just wonder if the dea agents moms or close family were going through the same thing as my mom if they would do the same thing I did for my mom. Might give them a different outlook on things.

What's the point of state laws if federal laws have precedence over them?

it's a two-bladed sword ... , the idea of Federal Sovereignity (damn, I just know I mispelled that!) has its place ... IF, for instance, a state passed laws to hinder blacks from voting (and they have, look at the history of some Southern states, to name a few), then the Federal Government had to step in, and made all the states adhere to the Civil Rights Laws ... it works both ways ... don't get me wrong, the idea that we COULD vote to legalize marijuana, and the Feds tell us to take a flying leap, really pisses me off ... again, it does work both ways ... :smokin:
