why are police such wan$ers?
hey all.. well i think it was yesterday .. my mum said to me.. on the news uk news there was a thing about homegrowers getting raided.. basicly the police was advising the viewers .. if you notice strong smells comin out of some1s window and they allways have there curtains drawn to inform the police.. so they can raid them.. my mum didnt give me all the story.. you know what dizzy mums are like.. well i have a carbon filter so im not worried bout smell.. but what i am worried about is the thought that any random person could find or work out im growing call police n i get raided.. can this happen? i mean i thought police had to have solid evedence.. but i mean some1 could ring police and say i know some1 is growing pot i have seen the plants for my own eyes.. even though they havent seen them they may have just heard then the police think right lets get em..you get busted.. man why dont the police try a bit harder at catching murderers rapests and crack dealers and leave the pot growers alone... i mean ok the pot growers that sell big deserve to get busted.. but not the little 1s just enjoying a hobby we love and growing some weed so we dont have to get riped off by the tight ass dealers that deserve to get busted.. any ways i could go on forever.. im sure a lot of you all feel me on this1.. the only 1 thing that calms me down about this.. is the fact that they can bust 100 growers a day.. but... there will still allways be mary jane:thumbsup:

Just be thankful that you don't live in the US. It's too bad that they're getting strict about growing there, but it sounds like it's only temporary.

It's like bullies in school there is NO reason just because they can. The say medical marijuana users don't put up a fight like terrorists do so it's safe to go after them. We don't shoot back or fight them so we are easy picking and make good TV with little to NO risk.

its not as bad as the media makes out, sounds like the usual scare tactics.
i especially like the bit about it funding "criminal networks"
how stupid do they think the public are? we didnt buy that argument with copyright theft, and we dont buy it with cannabis plants.
the police cannot just come and kick your door down on some other persons say so.
think of the compensation claim for stress they would have after battering down the wrong door with zero evidence.
what the police could do is watch you a bit, if a complaint is made, and if your exhibiting certain types of behavioural patterns, like lots of visitors at unusual hours, or causing any type of disruption/anti social behavior in the area, they could se that as further evience and maybe get a warrant.
or they could even just knock on the door under the pretence of looking for witnesses of a local crime, to see if you give your game away.
either way, if you are an otherwise respectable "law abiding" citizen with a regular life, and you dont have 100 plants scattered across three rooms and a house stinking of weed, and an ammount of unconcious students in your front room, youve pretty much got nothing to worry about.
besides, in these cases, ( and granted theres been a lot recently in the UK ) i think theres been more busts because a hell of a lot more people are smoking and growing thier own than there was just a few years back. so logically, the ammount of busts will rise.
who knows, maybe the ammount of busts hasnt risen, its just that its fasionable with the media at the moment, so it gets more lime light, or HPS light in this case, lol
and also, ive noticed all these high profile busts have been what i would describe as "small scale commercial" rather than personal grows (typically a whole residential house conversion), and theres always mention of electricity theft. how a commercial grower is so poor they have to resort to stealing electricity, is beyond me, there are more sensible locations, and ways to explain high power usage if you really were serious about covering some serious ground space with plants.

and just another thing(lol u got me started now), the profits are so big for growing commercialy, any person with a good grasp of basic business principals could make a very safe income if they were methodical, prudent and carefull not to fall into the trap of grabbing quick easy profit ( a-la council house grow factory to make fast money)

why are police such wan$ers?
it might aswell be writen in there work contract cause every cop that i have come across has been a wanker
they get ruffer with you cause of your image but they dont leave any marks
so ya cant sue them for it cause there is no proof !!!
coppers are more corrupt then any of us
they raid ya house ,find 4 ounces and only 1 gets spoke of in court
then they say that they swear to tell the truth in court
but what gets said is nowhere near the truth
and the shitiest thing about it is that they get bonuses when they get a suspect locked up they see it as a criminal off the street
but who is the real criminal us or them !!!
lifes a proper bitch then you meet a wanker cop and it just gets plain worse lol
cheers all

Texas -- According to new crime statistics released last week by the FBI, arrests for marijuana possession reached a record high in 2005, which saw nearly 800,000 marijuana-related arrests nationwide.
About 88% of those were for simple possession; the remaining people â?? just over 90,000 â?? were charged with sale and/or manufacturing, a category that includes people busted for growing pot for medicinal use.
Indeed, says Allen St. Pierre, executive director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, the arrest numbers have increased steadily over the last decade, as the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy â?? home of the nation's drug czar and the brain trust behind the failed anti-drug media â?? has increasingly focused on maintaining its always-losing pot prohibition.
"People are running around with meth mouth and out of their minds, and we're focusing on marijuana," St. Pierre said. "There are [law enforcement agencies] all over the country going bonkers over their meth problems, and yet the ONDCP shoves money at them â?¦ to go look for ditchweed." Using the current arrest numbers as a guide, St. Pierre figures that a pot smoker is arrested every 40 seconds â?? "it's just a totally skewed priority," he said.
Coincidentally, also on Sept. 18, just hours after the FBI released its latest arrest figures, the 40-second spotlight shone on Willie Nelson, who was ticketed for having a pound and a half of pot and several ounces of psychedelic mushrooms on board his tour bus.
Reportedly, Nelson's bus was traveling down I-10 outside Lafayette, La., on Monday when he was pulled over for a routine â?? ahem â?? commercial vehicle inspection. When the bus door opened, the officer smelled pot and began a search of the bus.
While anyone else caught with that amount of pot and 'shrooms would've been carted off to the pokey faster than you can say, "Whiskey River," Nelson and three others, including his sister, slid through with misdemeanor tickets â?? but not before local officers hightailed it over to the bus, a source tells the Chronicle, to get their pictures taken with the Red Headed Stranger. Perhaps that's punishment enough.
Finally, in an attempt to further its anti-drug message, the ONDCP has taken to cyberspace, posting a number of its ridiculous just-say-no-esque ad spots on YouTube.com. Ironically, the drug czar's office has used the same key words â?? pot, weed, ganja, etc. â?? to tag its spots as those used by everyone else loading pot-related videos onto the site, meaning viewers will get to compare the pro-pot videos of, say, NORML to those of the anti-pot ONDCP. Let the duel begin
They are looking for people just like us everyday and for the very reasons I said.
