    Is Marijuana Like Tomatoes?

When transplanting tomato seedlings, if you replant them deeper than they were previously planted, they will grow roots out of the main stem that is buried.
    Will pot plants do that?

The answer is yes, but you don't want to cover any higher than the cotyledons (seed leaves). If you look at mature pot plants, you will often see little bumps on the stem near the soil. If covered, they will become roots. If your seedlings stretch from too little light, planting then deeply is an excellent idea.

    Yeah, what storm crow said.
Right up to the seed leaves, but you know how tomatoes will root PAST the seed leaves... well, that's not great for cannabis.

Thanks. I'm working on my first grow and got carried away with germinating bag weed seeds and now have about 45 little 1 week old plants growing in assorted containers. I don't have the space to grow more than two large plants. lol
Anyhow there will be some transplanting involved!

That's good because I want to root some clones. If it's as easy as tomato plants, you can just plunk the cuttings in some water and almost all of them survive. I don't know if pot is that easy but I'm gonna try it that way first. No sense making things more complicated than they need to be. If that doesn't work, I still have some more bag weed seeds for back up.

Well, its not THAT easy to clone dope, but you'll get it better and better with more practise, but remember that not all strains respond well to cloning

Drugs-Forum.com has salvaged and posted the now defunct 'Overgrow' website's Grow FAQ's. One of the articles makes it sound almost that easy.

So I thought give it a try, maybe with the addition of some rooting hormone.
If nothing else I'll get an idea of what I'm up against.
