I'm sure the official response should always be a discouragement of drinking, and that's for good reason. If you're taking an antidepressant, you're counter-acting its effects by ingesting ethyl alcohol, which is a depressant, even if you only drink once in a blue moon.

But I know that's also not reality. If you're not overdoing it and taxing your liver with binge drinking, you can probably get by with occasional infrequent drinking. Don't be surprised if it affects the action of your Lexapro though. Keep up that water and be very careful. No drinking and driving, right?
birdgirl73 Reviewed by birdgirl73 on . lexapro and drank (not dank related) not really the right place but ive seen some knowledgable people on these threads so figured id ask u guys. im on lexapro, i know your not supposed to drink on most ssri's, and they definitly dont recommend it. but i drank alot of brandy with some buddies last night, i always drink a ton of water before during and after drinkin cuz i got a day job, water keeps me from being hung over. i feel fine today, and i felt good last night. so basically if i only drink once in a while, and keep Rating: 5
