Wow, i just read about this new initiative in nevada, i really hope it gets passed. Anyone know how its comming along? If it gets passed, i have a feeling cali will be next :thumbsup: :rasta:

i have a feeling that with all these initiatives that this is the beginning of a new beginning for cannabis.

It's a good first step, but I don't like some of the restrictions it places. Specifically, it's restrictions on where it can be sold.

(a) That is located within 500 feet of the property line of a public school, private school or structure used primarily for religious services or worship;

(b) That is engaged in business as a gas station, convenience store, grocery store, night club, dance hall or licensed gaming establishment; or

(c) That sells intoxicating liquor for consumption on or off the premises.

Basically, the only place it will be able to be sold is a smoke shop. But I guess that's OK, it's better than not being able to buy at all.

Amen brother, pure gospel. At least we will be able to buy it at all legalyy anyway.

One more hole in the DEA's dike. Once we get it this far, we just keep making the hole bigger until the whole rotten mess caves in on itself.

Those restrictions (B,C) need to be ceded in order to protect the gambling and liquor industries, which (at least in Nevada) are powerful enough to defeat this if they feel threatened by it.

As for A, I think that it’s pretty reasonable. That’s a common city ordinance regarding bars.

It will be voted upon soon. If it passes, it will be legal at the end of November.

don't get excited ... if it passes, it will be just like any other state's Medical Marijuana Statutes ... a nice gesture in the right direction, but not worth the paper it's written on ... Medical Marijuana, or any other kind, is NOT legal anywhere in the United States (and virtually every nation in the entire world) ... while an individual state may ignore violations, or fail to enforce, the good old Federal Government will throw your ass in jail, and throw away the key ... just a warning ... :smokin:
