wait wait, has anyone here used pro tools or tried making a beat that's actually somewhat good? that is a true skill in itself, as it does require you to have some musical ability to make beats. sure its not playing an acutal instrument, but it takes a lot of talent nonetheless

I have been listening to a lot of rap lately, one of my friends got me hooked on it because he brings cd's everytime we blaze with different shit on it.

some other stuff i cant remember but ive downloaded alot of the above mentioned, i gotta say that a lot of rap today is pure shit, that chain hang low being one i hate, i dunno something about rap like that that pisses me off. but dont knock a whole genre of music because there are some shitty songs out there that get a lot of rep. thats like saying ohh i dont like the doors so rock music must suck balls(which nobody would ever say because the doors kick ass)

I just got into rap 2 summers ago, and when I started, i was acting like some bitchy music snob. Only liking underground rap cuz "mainstream" is to crappy...

then i realised i dont wanna be like all those douchy new wave assholes and disregard anything that grants someones attention....So i now i can proudly say that while high, i Nod my head to Creedance Clearwater Reivvial, and T.I in the same 20 min.

i used to hate rap too, but now that I've listened to the Roots while high I'm into them along with Jurrasic 5, A Tribe Called Quest, old Eminem stuff, Jay- z, etc just poetic rap thats not all about money cash hoes
