Fear of flying?
Hey guys,
I'm flying for a weekend trip back home tomorrow, and I'm a nervous flyer by nature. So that means I can't get excited about my trip until I'm actually THERE safe and sound. Anyone else a nervous flyer? I'm not worried about terrorists, I'm worried about the plane going down. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.MaryJaneintheCloset Reviewed by MaryJaneintheCloset on . Fear of flying? Fear of flying?
I used to be a nervous flyer, till i actually FLEW a small light aircraft (called a Bulldog) it was a 2 seater trainer plane, so obviously i wasnt alone, i was scared before going up but once i was up there and took the controls, it was amazing, now the only thing i hate about flying is being crammed into a tiny chair with no leg room lol... obviously this is a different situation to what your gonna be doin, but i've been on a few flights in passenger jets, and there aint really that much to be worried about, your more likely to die in a car crash on the way to the airport! (if that makes you feel any better lol)
just relax MJ, be more worried about the in-flight meals.... yeeeeuuuuuck!!!
Peace

Don't they say it's safer to fly than to drive? Bring some gum/candy (I nearly wrote GUN! ACK!) and make sure you suck it as your taking off...the ears popping was the worst part for me... good luck, and have a nice trip!

its true. you're much safer flying then driving. you've got a much better chance of getting into a fatal car accident then there even being one single problem with your flight. chill out. maybe smoke a bowl before you take off? in the airport bathroom maybe? :rasta: i dont know man. just chill out, relax, have a good flight, and enjoy your trip. peace

I'm a nervous flyer to, and no matter how many people say that flying is safer than driving, the fact remains that while you may be more likely to get into an accident in a car, you're also more likely to walk away from it. Few, very few, people survive plane crashes on the other hand.
I'd rather take a train or ship anyway, travel should be about the journey there just as much as about the actual destination.

I won't fly because I am not the one in control. You will not catch me in the passenger seat of any vehicle.
