I fully agree Krogith, the dark ages were run by false religion. But that's my point, it seems anything short of god getting down here and governing us himself always ends up with us following a false ideal.

and yes, I see the signs, though people of every era have seen the signs too. Europeans were convinced the black plague was a sign of the end of times. People across continental asia thought mongolians were demons from hell sent by god. And believe me, the mongolian invasions were far more impressive than the conflicts we have going on today. Now that I think of it, history in the last 2 thousand years is riddled with events far exceeding the scale of world-wide conflict today. The only difference is we now have reporters at every corner of the earth with the technology to show it to us live, as it happens, leaving a considerably larger psychological impact on humanity, whereas before the extent of international troubles were very limited in regards to people's view.

spooky talk in a religious context can be mighty frightening, but humanity has heard it countless times before, with all the self-fulfilling prophecies to match. This only part of why I follow reason above faith.

Take a watch apart. Put every single pice of it into a Box and shake it up your whole life. Give the box to your son and have him shake it,his whole life and then pass it to his son. How long befor that watch is together and working again? All the pices are there,when do you think it will be together and Working?

Ah yes, William Paley's two-century-old watchmaker argument. Do you honestly think I have never heard that one before, that I am not familiar with any of the countless refutations that have come up in the two hundred years that theists have been spouting out this same old tired argument? Just because you personally can't conceive of how natural selection can create immense complexity in any reliably self-replicating beings over geological timeframes that are inconceivable to our primate brains, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Saying "God did it" answers nothing, especially if you refuse explain the process by which God did it, or the way in which such a hugely complex being as God just popped out of nowhere. If a watch is too complex to come about spontaneously on its own, and God is more complex than a watch, how does this argument make any sense at all?
