Extracting Pollin From A Male
So Today I did a clean up on the Cab,
inspected my plant and saw it has suffered a bit of a burn, Maybe a Nute burn or a heat burn from not being able to have the door open over the weekend. Due to a guest staying over.
It might possibly be a nute burn because all of its fan Leaf stems are dark purpal. And some leafs are burnt on the tips ever so slightly. Im pretty sure this is somthing to be concerned about.
But more importantly I noticed a small catapiller style bug on a big fan leaf. the same kind I have seen in my box before. Only less developed these are extreamly small tiny lava. I have seen them in a slighly bigger state and they are a more yellowy orange colour. Im not sure what they are at all.
Because this plant is only for seeds I should be ok to spray it with neem oil right? because im not going to smoke the leaves I just want the seeds.
I hope these problems dont turn into bigger ones.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Happy Halloween!!

Go ahead and neem it if you don't plan on smoking it, or you can use pyrethrum which breaks down VERY fast and can be used on food crops.
Those little caterpillar things- do they look like little blonde splinters? Thrip larvae! Yuck. Luckily IMO the easiest to control of the 'big 4' (thrips, greenhouse whiteflies, aphids, and mites) that dirt growers have to suffer with.

yes they do look like that.. Yuck I hate those fukers. U sprayed with neem oil today hopefully it kills em I will cntinue to spray every few days. And I may look into that other pest spray you speak of.
the purpal stems on the leaves is that somthing to be concerned with you think Stinky?
I was thinking maybe a Mg Definicy from my city Tap water. Cuz on the tips on some of my big fan leaves are standing up. Like not the end tip of the leaf the little ridges on the outer edge of the whole leaf. I was looking at some piictures and its seemed very similar. I have seen this on some other plants I have grown in the past as well.
But I am sure when the plant is heat stressed it can cause this too. So it could just be that.
Do you think adding 1/2 table spoon / Gallon of epsom salt to my water could hurt my plant if Mg deficency isn't the problem?
thansk for all your help Stinky,, Its always good to see your name in the posts....

Yeah, heat stress can cause 'cupping' of the leaves. If anything you could use a touch of N, but late in flower, not to bother.
I'd use a little less Epsom... like 1/4 teaspoon/gal... enough to do the trick and not hurt if it isn't a problem.
Keep on forgetting to ask, is your new avatar a sled dog in its travel house?
Awww!
