if its acoustic...i like the acoustic electric just in case you want to be plugged. I'd go for the takamine, yamaha or ibanez....great picks. If you want electric, I myself have an epiphone with a holllow body and it plays beautifully for blues. Fender is always a great buy but pricey. My next guitar is going to be fender, i hope. Epiphone's hollow or solid body are great. If its metal than go for jackson, no other way... Hope i could be of some help.
