If Ken Loach had been the director we'd have seen a far better adaptation of the book. Incidentally, if anyone likes the book check out "Marabou Stork Nightmares" by the same author. It's by far his best book, although it is panned by most reviewers. He's not a writer I particularly like, but that is a great book.
i thought the movie was quite good , but the book is so much better. Haven't read Maribou Stork Nightmares (i couldn't get into it . thought it was kinda weird) but i have read "Porno". Man , that was fukkin' hilarious. It's like a follow up to "Trainspotting".

I saw the part that Chowder is talking about. When I first saw it, I did that, "OOOH MY GOD!" and covered my mouth with my hands.

I think I'm gonna watch it right now, actually. You guys have made me want to watch it. =)
