I'm a muslim and it's ramadan right now, and I'm choosing to fast. I consider myself to be a pretty religious muslim, do you think smoking weed should be permitted? please other muslims answer, I can't really find anything in the Quran about it, I'm very interested, because I have enough self-control to stop using if it's against.

If you were an observant muslim you wouldnt be smoking weed full stop, hell you wouldnt even be drinking.

I'm not Muslim, but I did a quick bit of research and I believe smoking (as a physical act) is not permitted. The breathing in of second-hand smoke, however, is not breaking the fast. If it is medicinal, I believe it would be permitted, since medicinal IVs ( but not nutritional IVs) are permitted. I just did a search on --ramadan fasting smoke --and got over 60 thousand hits. The internet can be a great source of information.

I imagine that you may get some flack for being Muslim. People who hate are usually rather ignorant- they believe the propaganda put out by those who want a nation of sheep, and are lazy enough to avoid actually going out and learning the truth. And that truth is...We are all human. We all love and cry and feel the same. Hating another person for their religious beliefs is absolutely foolish. None of us know with absolute certanty who or what the creator is. Can our human minds even hold the immenseness that is the creator? If you have found the religion that fits you, the best way to convert others is to live your religion, hurt none, and by example, show others the way. Forced or coerced conversions, whether religious or political, breed anger and resentment. We are seeing the end results of both types of conversions in our world today. As for my personal philosophy, an old Chinese proverb says it all--"There are many paths up the mountain, the view from the top is the same." I'll meet you at the top some day!

I gots to give muslim people some credit for putting up with political bullshit. I do not think Islam is a crazy religion, nor do I think that the fundamentalist zealots are terrorists.

oh yeah, about smoking during fasting, of course not, I know that, but I'm wondering just in general, because I like the idea of believing that herb was put on earth by god, and it's completely natural you only have to cure it, otherwise it can be fully grown naturally, unlike cocaine and other hard drugs that are either extracted or man-made. I'm so amazed that a plant can make you high, it's so crazy when you break it down.
oh and I don't even drink, the only drug, or whatever I do is weed, and I occasionally smoke hookah but that's more tradition, it's not like I do it for the buzz, which is pretty much non-existant.

well im not sure about islam, but in christianity i consider it part of my duty to smoke weed. moses was definitely stoned when he seen that burning bush. but i dont relay beleive in the bible. i believe in jesus and devine creation. cannabis is a natural plant that god made for us to use

But wait, I don't want to critisize your belief but why would you believe in Jesus but not the bible? Their either both 100% credible or their both wrong. It's really not one or the other. It's all about faith! If you believe Jesus did live and did die for our sins and also was ressurected then you must believe his Father, the LORD is THE God, which makes the bible 100% correct because surly a perfect God would get his perfect word... well, perfect. If you want to believe, don't let people fool you into thinking the bible contradicts its self at any given chance.
