Mold Prevention Infomtaion
No problem, Tom. Its practically impossible outdoors to avoid botrytis (mold on buds). The spores are everywhere and it only takes the right conditions for it to take hold. Mold can ruin a nice cola in a matter of days. What I do when harvest is near (like now !) is to keep a daily watch on the buds. The first spot of brown rot I see on a leaflet or flower is my cue to whip out my scalpel and go to work. You will normally find more gunk below the surface. Cut it all away and then a little extra. Now its been raining these past 2 days on my spot on the planet. I shake all the colas to get as much water as possible off. They should then dry out easier. The shaking process also exposes mold, like when a cola snapped in half today. Fucking budrot inside. So I cut the complete cola away, cut out the gunk, and saved 80% of the very nice and tight tail. Shes drying right now in my veg. dryer and i'm going to smoke some of her in about one hour..
