Hey, thanks rev. Not profesh...but I definitely like to keep things clean and tidy. CFLs...well, they are ok. You can grow some decent weed with them, but if you are serious and you smoke a bunch :stoned:, HPS is the way to go.

For the occasional toker...or someone with limited funds, CFLs can work. You just have to find a better way to get rid of the heat. In this cab, the heat produced by the 200w of CFLs is such that it raises the ambient temp in the room to unwanted levels, which thus affects the temp in the other cab and this cab itself, if you know what I mean.

CFLs rock for veg, though.

Mrs. G, not sure of the strain on that one you are talking about, but the leaves are cool, huh? I love huge fan leaves. So purty. :hippy:

Superthrive is good additive for veg. It balances out your NPK pretty well and is also good for putting your pH at a proper level, IMO. Also, if you transplant, it's good to help reduce shock. Good for cloning and germing as well. Not good for flowering, though, ya know?

The setup looks nice a clean, have you always grown in the Rockwell Cube with hydroton rocks?

DO you just empty out teh excess water runoff? 5 mins after you water? I think in my case I could use that extra water to help build some humidity in my CAb. It would evaporate fairly fast cuz of the heat.

kdspecial, hey thanks, man. Yea, rockwool only here. Dirt is too...dirty. And a little less precise, IMO...but I'm not bumping it. It's all good for you guys. I'd like to mess with it someday. The earthy flavor of soil-grown is a plus, too.

As far as the runoff, in the veg & flower cabs, the runoff is drained back into the resevoir, and recirculated. For the CFL cab, there is no drainage. You can have drainage, and that is better, but if you don't, just water the proper amount so as to not have any water sitting at the bottom rotting your roots and you should be fine. If you want more humidity, I'd go with the bowl of water NEXT to the plants. That would be more effective and safer.

So...hmmm, I wonder who voted this thread "One Star" to bump it down from ***** to ****...hmmm? They must've gotten up on the wrong side of the bed today. Whoever you are, I invite you to post as to why you thought this thread deserved that low rating. I'm open to all criticism.

Hope everyone is chilling today and doing well.
