If I have the 400w light on and the eight 30-watt warm CFLs on too, temps top out around 10 degrees hotter than the room (which I keep at around 72 during the warmer months, and as low as 65 during the winter). If I just have the HPS on, or just the CFLs on, then the temps get to about 5 degrees hotter than the room. Yield is ~1 pound every 10-ish weeks.

And yeah, you're overflowing your closet there! Lol, but hey, better to have too many than too few! Any calyxes on the grown plants yet? You can tell sex without flowering, generally, if the plants are old enough, from the pre-flowers. Could be you'll be able to determine sex from some of the mature plants before the clones tell you.

Hope you have a bunch of nice healthy females! If there's a lottery, I'm going with 6 females.
I've heard about pre-flowers, even seen some pictures, and yes I think I do have some...but I dont trust them enough to throw away a potentially female plant. I've heard that some apparently-male preflowers can turn into female plants. No worries.

If I get any more than 6 females, I'll have too many. I thought I'd never say that.

I was gonna look for my pics to post of what I "thought" were preflowers, but I'm too lazy right now and honestly my kids (real kids) need to be fed. What do you suggest? PB&J or left over chicken & rice.

I dont know what a darkroom louvre fan is. Maybe I'll have to google it. Unless you feel so kind as to explain...

    Off to the kitchen.

    Hey there Fog,
I finally stopped by for a visit!
I love the overall setup. It is simple and cleanly done.
Plant health is on ht good end of what can be expected with your 2 main problems, which are limited light and not enough root space... those rockwool blocks, if I were you, would be peeled of their wrappers and sunk into a bed of hydroton,l in a tray with drainage of course. The plants look healthy overall but the slight droopiness can be a sign of being seriously rootbound.

Hey, Stinky. Glad you decided to stop by! Thanks for the kudos on my setup. I like it too. No perfect, but much better than the $3000 I almost spent on a prefab cab. Taking note of the rootboundedness...lol...will comply. Please keep checking back. I will need some advice and companionship in the weeks to come. :smokin:

    Thanks.

Well, Bodom. I told you I'd get here. Hope you're still keeping up with my grow. Well, we have gotten to the point where our clones (sexing clones) are ready to flower to see which of our plants are male and female.

This is a great day in this humble grower's life. Since we have overflowed into our future flowering room, we have a need for somewhere to flower our clones for a couple weeks, just til we find out which ones are males and we can weed out some plants. Unfortunately, we just don't have room for them all.

SO, we brainstormed and decided against building a cab...and we came upon the conclusion, that since we only needed it for a couple weeks, we would try a shot at the rubbermaid growbox...Oh and after we installed our HPS, we have lots of CFLs left over. So here we go.

We installed 4 CFLs into the top part, cut a hole for a fan. Used that puny little fan that we started with, and put it in for exhaust. We bought another fan to replace that one in the veg closets. Mylar on the inside and....voila!

    BCO growbox!

    Thanks for the idea.
