Looking sweet green Frog Love the Jars....

The setup looks nice a clean, have you always grown in the Rockwell Cube with hydroton rocks?

DO you just empty out teh excess water runoff? 5 mins after you water? I think in my case I could use that extra water to help build some humidity in my CAb. It would evaporate fairly fast cuz of the heat.

I look forward to speaking with "youse" and sharing the herbal bond that brings us together! SO let's begin... ONCE UPON A TIME...I walked out my door to get the mail, and LO & BEHOLD, I stumble across a notebook with a CD in it. On the front of the notebook are the words: "Please post me on Cannabis.com." Now, being the kind-hearted and Rating: 5

Hey, thanks rev. Not profesh...but I definitely like to keep things clean and tidy. CFLs...well, they are ok. You can grow some decent weed with them, but if you are serious and you smoke a bunch :stoned:, HPS is the way to go.

For the occasional toker...or someone with limited funds, CFLs can work. You just have to find a better way to get rid of the heat. In this cab, the heat produced by the 200w of CFLs is such that it raises the ambient temp in the room to unwanted levels, which thus affects the temp in the other cab and this cab itself, if you know what I mean.

    CFLs rock for veg, though.

Mrs. G, not sure of the strain on that one you are talking about, but the leaves are cool, huh? I love huge fan leaves. So purty. :hippy:

Superthrive is good additive for veg. It balances out your NPK pretty well and is also good for putting your pH at a proper level, IMO. Also, if you transplant, it's good to help reduce shock. Good for cloning and germing as well. Not good for flowering, though, ya know?

kdspecial, hey thanks, man. Yea, rockwool only here. Dirt is too...dirty. And a little less precise, IMO...but I'm not bumping it. It's all good for you guys. I'd like to mess with it someday. The earthy flavor of soil-grown is a plus, too.

As far as the runoff, in the veg & flower cabs, the runoff is drained back into the resevoir, and recirculated. For the CFL cab, there is no drainage. You can have drainage, and that is better, but if you don't, just water the proper amount so as to not have any water sitting at the bottom rotting your roots and you should be fine. If you want more humidity, I'd go with the bowl of water NEXT to the plants. That would be more effective and safer.

So...hmmm, I wonder who voted this thread "One Star" to bump it down from ***** to ****...hmmm? They must've gotten up on the wrong side of the bed today. Whoever you are, I invite you to post as to why you thought this thread deserved that low rating. I'm open to all criticism.

Hope everyone is chilling today and doing well.

Okay, I'll bite. Why is ST not good to use in flower? Can you use it in flower to aid the recovery of a plant that has had pH problems?

It is best to use only during vegetative growth.
Overuse can cause problems, like the roots will grow and the plant will just sort of sit there seeming to do nothing.
The only time it is beneficial to use superthrive in flower is if you are doing a late transplant.
I only use it on ONE watering in that instance.

    From the "horse's mouth" ^

Did YOU vote my thread down, Mrs. G?! :cursing: LOL, just kidding.

Edit: Know what? I just notice that whoever did that voted the Women's War thread down too. Hmmm

    Thanks for the info Fog.
Wow, what a coincidence about the voting. What do you want to bet my growlog has been voted down too?

Well, it seems like someone decided to rectify the problem [on my thread] and voted me back up to 5 stars! :yippee: I voted the Women's War one a 5 but it didn't bump it up yet.

On another note...I've barely been able to log on recently, but I HAVE been stopping in to see people's updates and new threads, but JEEEEZ its the slowest I've EVER seen it on these boards. EVEN the LOUNGE is slow. Wow. You think it may be because of spring break?? I wonder. There has not been much new for me to read. Maybe that means it's a good time to take a couple weeks off...Hmmm.

I have a few more pics to throw up here on this JOURNAL before I finish it off and send it to it's eventual grave, so hopefully I can do that today and maybe there will be something to talk about.

Well, all of you who are out on your "breaks," hope you're having a blast. Those of you who are here, c'mon and post!

    Be back later...hopefully.

Hey fog it's too bad I didn't get to comment on this huge update yet! I bet I remind you of you more every day now that I've gone MIA as well!

We have two month left before we can flower any of these. That's too long. We are not sure if we will let them grow a little more and then top them...or LST them...curious...
I might face the same problem here... I couldn't bring myself to top them though so they're growing into the CFLs and getting burnt... argh! Damn plant is just too hearty and vigorous to be held back.

oh, and definitely tie those girls up man it's way more fun, and slightly more kinky.

w33dman27 Well, did you look at ALL the pictures? I know it's a long thread, but I explain every part of it for ya.

Yes, rockwool (small cubes) into rockwool (larger cubes) into hydroton. Veg is drip system. Flower is Ebb & Flow (Flood & Drain). And since it's come up on another thread recently, I'll add that if you watch Mr. Green's "I Grow Chronic" video from pottv, you will see pretty much how 'mine' is set up. It's a good vid.

Mother & clones are hand watered daily until further technological advances come about. LOL

Mrs. G. Thanks...together we shall stamp out anonflamers! LOL

~canuckgrower~ Well, you can comment..any time on any thing. I don't want to discourage people from posting just because they think it's old news. If anyone sees anything in my log that they'd like to comment on or inquire about, please feel free to do so, no matter how old the post is.

Hey, man, the balance between veg and flowering plants is a delicate one. I had a chat with SantaCruzOrganic one time about it in his old thread. He has a good system of growing what I would call "temporary or cycling mothers." This provides for just the right amount of veg before you flower and minimal need for large veg space...plus you don't end up with a bunch of big plants that you have no where to flower.

Basically, if I remember correctliy, what he does is create small mother plants, which are used to make the desired amount of clones...

OK...well, i typed out what I thought was the exact process, then in as I was getting closer to the end, it seemed a little 'off' somehow and I'd rather not give out incorrect info, so if you wanna know go look up his first grow thread. It's in there. Sorry.
