I have a tree in my backyard that grows small, red berries, that the birds eat. After they eat a few, they get in a somewhat drunken state, and they fly rather eratically. Well, one just flew into my window, hard, really hard. I looked down and I see the poor buggers wing is bent the other direction, so I went outside to check him out, and it was for sure broken and no way it could fly again. The birds were most likely just drunk. It's very common for certain kinds of berries to ferment, then the brids eat them and get drunk, then fly around all loopy and fall around. Do you live in or around Florida Nochowderforyou? It's pretty common there.

Yes, that's exactly what happens. It's a rather large window as well and the tree is no more than 25ft away from the window. It happens all the time, and in a few cases, the birds have broken their neck and died. All from a drunken berry.
