Uhh you can smoke at any age and posess tobacco.

dont know where the hell you live,but in the US you must be 18 years of age to smoke ( or even possess) tobacco.You are subject to a fine, having your person searched,and having your parents beat your ass because THEY end up having to pay the 500.00 fine for your ticket.

i asked a cop a couple years ago and he said i could and plus i got stopped a couple time and was smoking a cig. and they didnt mention anything i live in ny though

Well NY has a HELL of a lot more violent crime etc to deal with and not enough cops to do it.I'm not surprised cops there dont enforce the tobacco laws strongly there.But it is STILL ILLEGAL if you are under 18.
It's illegal to smoke or posess pot in Texas but the cops seldom arrest anyone for it unless they have at least an ounce or 2 on them.Doesn't mean it isnt still ILLEGAL though,they just choose to use their own judgement in enforcing it.

Yeah, I live in NY and we're allowed to smoke or possess at any age. In fact, I smoke a cig everytime I get stopped by a cop. It is not illegal to buy cigarettes if your under 18, but it is illegal to sell them to a minor, so the vendor takes all the blame.

In this insanely backwards police state, they give minor tobacco tickets, for 1st offense they gotta watch some video in the courthouse and get fined. It's crazy, getting courts involved for cigarettes.

If you did that in Texas, you would be told to put it out until they told you you could go.Even if you were 88 years old, they won't let you smoke while being questioned.Unless you are on your own property and even then, if you are outside they try to make you refrain from lighting up while they are there.Seems to be SOP for Tx cops since even 1's I personally KNOW to smoke themselves,won't light up nor let you light up while on a stop.a lit cigarette is a weapon as far as the law is concerned,which could be used to assault a peace oofficer.

i smoke (cigs) and i always wondered this. im a minor (16) and i wanted to know if i can get fined or sumthin for having cigs on me, or smoking in public. me and my friends always put out our cigs if we see a cop, but do we have to? we live in connecticut if that'll help.

i got caught with cigs, i had to fuckin go to a drug awareness class just cuz of it... i was 16 when i got caught, also got a ticket and had to go to court and all that bs..
